Statements for organisations to sign on Parenting and Domestic Violence

Children Are Unbeatable! is seeking support from organisations working in parent-education and domestic violence, who are asked to sign statements describing the adverse effect that the current legal defence of “reasonable punishment” (section 58 of the Children Act 2004) has on their work – see attached statements below. Support for the parenting statement includes the Family and Parenting Institute, Parenting UK and the International Federation for Parenting Education; support for the domestic violence statement includes Women’s Aid, Refuge, Zero Tolerance, AVA (Against violence and abuse), Respect and Eaves. All organisations working in these fields are urged to add their name: contact Miranda Horobin at info@endcorporalpunishment.org or Rachel Hodgkin at rachel@childrenareunbeatable.org.uk.
