Stop Smacking - Children and young people, campaigning for change!

News and events, February 2010

Get public speaking experience and help a good cause!

We are looking for young people to give a speech in a church service on Tuesday 16th March, in Oxford.

Children are Unbeatable! are working with the Churches' Network for Non-violence, who are displaying their travelling exhibition, Growing up Without Violence: End Legalised Violence against Children, in places of worship all over the UK. In Oxford, along with the exhibition, we'll be having activities for children and a service in the evening. We are looking for young CAU supporters to speak at the service about why they want their right to protection from violence to be respected.

This is a great chance to do something new, practise your public speaking skills and gain experience.

We can also help by writing a letter to your school or college if you need to take time off.

This opportunity is open to children and young people of any ages, and of any religion or none. You don't have to have done any campaigning with us before as we will help you think about how to speak and what to say. Groups of friends and individual young people are both welcome.

If you are interested, or have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible, and by Friday 19th February at the latest.
